La Bailarina es la última obra de la coreógrafa Paulina Mellado.
Y se crea con la inquietud de relacionar la metodología de investigación corporal de Cía. Pe Mellado Danza con el verso de la poeta chilena Gabriela Mistral, quien en el 2015 cumple 70 años de haber recibido el premio Nobel de literatura. Basándose en poemas como Una Mujer, La Humillada, La Fugitiva, pero sobre todo La Bailarina (Lagar II), la obra descubre a la poeta-mujer en busca de refugio en su estado creativo. El montaje vincula la danza con la escritura y el movimiento con la palabra, ambos terminan desplegándose hacia el gesto poético en cuánto gesto de creación y logra aproximarse a su esencia, su espíritu libre, su ímpetu de lucha y sueños contenidos.
Ocho bailarines 6 mujeres y 2 hombres, todos con presencia permanente en escena y vestidos de Gabriela Mistral, se desplazan por tarimas de distintos niveles al ritmo de la pieza musical, compuesta por sonidos digitales, voces y sonidos de viento en el desierto. Las escenas varían entre solos, dúos, tríos y piezas grupales. El ánimo de la interpretación se complementa con un diseño lumínico que apertura y aísla espacios.
Esta obra fue una Co-producción con el Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral y Cia Pe Mellado Danza/ CIEC estrenada en el 2015. Hasta la fecha ha tenido varias temporadas y funciones, en el 2018 en la Feria International Tanzmesse nrw. Düsseldorf. Alemania. Festival Santiago a Mil y Lo mejor del GAM en el 2016, FINTDAZ, 2017. Celebración Día Internacional de la Danza en Valparaíso, 2016 y en el Teatro Municipal de Arica y su cuarta temporada en Gam, 2019
The Dancer is the last work of choreographer Paulina Mellado. It was created with the concern of relating the corporal investigation methodology of Cía. Pe Mellado Danza with the poetic work of the chilean poet Gabriela Mistral, who in 2015 celebrated 70 years of receiving the Literature Nobel Prize. Based on poems such as Una Mujer, La Humillada, La Fugitiva, but especially La Bailarina (Lagar II), the work discovers the female – poet in the search of refuge in her creative state. The coreography links dance with writing and movement with the word, both end up moving towards the poetic gesture as a symbol of creation and get closer to her essence, her free spirit, her fight impetus and locked dreams.
Eight dancers, 6 women ans 2 men, all with a permanent presence on stage and dressed with Gabriela Mistral clothes, move through platforms of different levels according to the rhythm of the musical piece, composed of digital sounds, voices and the sound of wind in the desert. The scenes vary between solos, duets, trios and group pieces. The spirit of the interpretation is complemented by a lighting design that opens and isolates spaces.
